!1: Best Buy I have read Mr. Popyk's columns in the International Musician as well as The Music Trades magazine. It's nice to see the best ideas for getting more work all together in one book. A lot of the chapters have me thinking "I can do that", or "Why didn't I think of that?". Do yourself a favor if you are looking for gigs...read this book! (Unless that is, you have all the work you can handle) on Sale!

Good Chord Tone Soloing: A Guitarist's Guide to Melodic Improvising in Any Style (Musicians Institute: Private Lessons)
Basically it covers the how and why of music and how you the guitar player should think about it. Be forwarned this is not a book that will make you better overnight. In fact there is a chance that you will feel as though you have gotten worse at first. My reccommendation for those that can afford the time is to buy this book and use it right along side a good relative pitch ear training program....seriously. If you want to be a good musician then the methods in this book will provide the how and why while your ear will be responsible for the when.
I have A LOT of guitar books...as do most of you reading this. This book teaches you the way to think about the guitar. It will take a lot of serious practice to ingrain the material in these pages, but those that do will transition for ok players to real players.
Plain and simple: Best book I've bought in a long time.
One draw back. The sound tracks are corney sounding...but that's a very minor issue in light of what this book provides.

Brand new Chord Tone Soloing: A Guitarist's Guide to Melodic Improvising in Any Style (Musicians Institute: Private Lessons)
We see lots of things in a short period of time at Encore. I consider myself an advanced level guitarrist.
This book is very serious, covers a different ground we don't exactally see at MI's Encore. It's approach is different and efficient.
It's helping me fulfill some wholes in my learning and also become much more musical.

Stories Behind Three Musicians Picasso
Image : http://www.flickr.com
Three Musicians Picasso in 1921 was training in the form of flat and two-dimensionality.Three Musicians show the principles and characteristics were observed from Synthetic Cubism.
In contrast to analytic Cubism was developed between 1908 and 1912 by Picasso and Georges Braque, Synthetic Cubism, who arrived at through a process of intellectual development and not break the forms found in the real world, such as cylinder, sphere, and cone. Synthetic Cubism wasmore decorative and the nature of the experiment in Analytic Cubism.
In this picture plane flat and there is no shading techniques commonly used for an intimate and realistic depth of field and expect to jump into a collage artist: the peak or a permutation of the most extreme of Synthetic Cubism.
In connection with the subject mater, Picasso Three Musicians recall a past era diidealkan bit of bohemian life. Here, Picasso by masquerading as a central figure ofHarlequin, flanked by Apollinaire Guilliame recently died, and old friend Max Jacob.
Furthermore, Harlequin, it is important to note, is back standing on the artists themselves. A stock character of Italian comedy travel group known as the Commedia dell'arte, which absorbed Harlequin lower class connotations and is very much a symbol of status-the artist out of the players.
Great people out, of course, have a strong attraction to Picasso andrepeatedly describes himself with a photo-identification. By coordinating its identity with the Commedia dell'arte figures, Picasso strict attention to the isolated existence as an artist.
substitution of Harlequin Picasso for himself is a technique first used between 1901 and 1905 during his Rose period. As a result, three musicians is a painting that points to the past.
Reintegration of the paintings of Picasso Harlequin may indicateartists to reconsider the artistic and social identity. Still the rise of Harlequin is also easier, formal implications. costumes signature figure on a colorful, highly patterned fabrics could be a reason for Picasso to experiment more with geometric designs and flat surfaces.

Buy Chord-Melody Guitar: A Guide to Combining Chords and Melody to Create Solo Arrangements in Jazz and Pop Styles (Musicians Institute: Private Lesso
Note that no Jazz standard complete chord melodies are included and emphasis is more on the chord part than the process of adapting a melody.
Some of the material here is part of the GIT Rhythm Level III core class, which Bruce also wrote and this book could also be used as a nice follow-on to 'Rhythm Guitar - The Complete Guide'.
The material is intermediate/advanced and Chapter 14 - More Chord Voicings contains plenty of fingerings I had never seen before, but which sound great if you can play them.
Since there is no 'Look inside' on Amazon yet I will list chapters; An overall fretboard view, Shells, Inversions, Harmonized scales, Chord scales, Slash chords, Harmonic moves, Voice leading, Cadences, Moving Lines, Substitution, Diminished chords, Chordal Interpretation, More Chord voicings.

Lowest Price The Chord Wheel: The Ultimate Tool for All Musicians (Instructional)
was completely stymied by the notes -- what do you play and when? how
come some notes sound better than others? why do certain songs (like
jazz & bass "standards") seem so similar, but sound so different?
How does everyone know what to play & when?
Well, it's all here. And you don't even have to get past the cover!
The Chord Wheel finally demistifies how songs are put together
around chords, and how those chords follow a progression. Now
you can visually see not only exactly what you should play, but
how to put together other chord patterns.
Frankly, I don't understand why other music books have never
covered this material this way.
Truly enlightening!

Cheap Music Theory for Computer Musicians Bk/Cd (Book)
As an average piano player and BBC award winning new music producer, using such programs
as Reason, Cubase and Pro Tools i find i can quickly ascertain the sort of sound I'm looking for, using
the scales and chords described in this book. With a now greater understanding i have created more
complex and intricate tracks using larger 7th and 9th chords and going from major to minor modes to great
effect. I don't feel i will need another theory book other than Composition for Computer Musicians
by the same author which i feel gives a complete a very good level of theory to add to your music
producing skills with of-course practice and hard work.
